Chameleon Task Manager

There are situations when you may need to close a running Windows program in a forced way, either because the program is not responding or just because you cannot find the close or exit button. In this case, you could use Windows Task Manager, but you will notice that this tool doesn't always work as it should and sometimes it may not close the desired application in a proper way. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't offer full information about the system resources consumption for running programs and tasks.

Fortunately, there is an alternative to Windows Task Manager and it's called Chameleon Task Manager. You can guess what this program is about just by looking at its name. It's a Windows tool which allows you to see which programs and services are running in Windows and it allows you to close any of them with one click, if you so desire. Installing Chameleon Task Manager is not a problem, as the installation process can be completed with just a few mouse clicks.

When running the software, you will notice that each running task has some information displayed, like the CPU and memory usage, including the disk activity. This information is also displayed in Windows Task Manager, but in Chameleon Task Manager, the system resource usage is far more accurate. If you click on any of the running tasks, a small menu will be displayed, in which you can stop or restart the program and you can also change its priority. Furthermore, you can control the CPU and memory usage for each program, separately. This feature is very useful if you have an older computer with a limited hardware configuration and you want to make sure that your programs run in an optimal way.

Besides viewing running programs, you can also see a list of started and stopped services and you can also control the state of any Windows service with one click.
